No Heat!

OK, I turned the knob to max a/c and the valve I was talking about got vacuum and shifted. The linkage shifted positions but I don't know if the valve shifted.

I obviously not an expert but I'm thinking the temp control switch/module/control that is the center of the panel is bad?

you need to warm up the truck turn on the heat and go feel the heater hoses like i posted earlier to see if they are all getting hot.

if the heat is on and you feel the hose that the valve is in and you feel on both sides of the valve, both sides should be hot. also feel the other hose and see if that is hot

I have a 97 Ranger. I only get cold air no matter where the temp control is. It switches from defrost, floor, dash, etc. but nothing but cold air. I believe that means I don't have a vacuum problem? Do I have a bad temp control?
going by your original post where you said you are only getting cold air makes me think that it is that heater control valve. if your tstat was stuck open you still would get some warm air at some point depending on outside temp. if it was your blend door most of the time it acts funny when you go around a corner, you said your truck is always cold and nothing else changes. You should make a better profile i dont even know what engine you have

I had the same problem with my 95. If both heater hoses are hot,the heater core is probably ok.My blend door actuator was not working. No power to it.Fuse #10 ( I think) was blown. This fuse supplies the cruise control and the blend door actuator on the 95 ranger. My fuse was blown because of the faulty speed control switch covered by the latest Ford recall.A real easy way to check if it is a blend door problem is to remove the actuator located behind the glove box door, and see if it moves when the control knob is moved.Hope this helps.I chased my tail for a while trying to figure mine out.

+1 on both hoses being hot core is probably ok. good suggest about the fuse. if the op determines that the blend door is broken there is a company that sells a kit to fix it for about $125 heatertreater.net I think

it is behind the glovebox go to the heatertreater.net website they explain it all and have videos

Thaks for the info!!!!!!

:sad: NO Heat for me also. I watched the video. The top part of my blend door is busted clean off as he explained.. It is not visable but easy to tell the hole is much bigger than the actuator on the motor..

I'll be ordering the kit.. Not exactly cheap..

The socket in the top of the heater box that the actuator shaft goes into was broke in half. The blend door couldn't move. I guess this is the problem most of the time on rangers and explorers. I used a jerry rig proceedure some guy posted online and it worked. I didn't have to take the dash apart. Drill a hole through the actuator shaft and insert a finishing nail. Reinstall the actuator and it will work.
I have heat again!!!
