been goin over my 88 b2 trying to get it running to either part it or beat it to death in the woods, so far ive narrowed it down to a bad wire or connection some place. i already have the inertia switch bypassed, key on nothing at the pumps, if i hook a jumper to the aldl, nothing, if i go to the relay connection for the fuel pump or the connection where i bypassed the inertia ive got normal pressure. i have spark. i have 12 volts positive at the injectors, but i have no ground pulse. noid light=no light. i tried a ecm out of my 86 ranger to no avail. i didnt try the b2 in the ranger though. the only wire i see thats visibly bad is an orange wire thats hanging behind the pass side of the engine. im stumped at this point. i tried a new relay years ago when this thing originally stopped running. lost interest and shoved it behind the barn.

What about the in tank pump itself? I fought for months with my dual tank Ranger tracking down electrical gremlins and it turned out that the truck had been sitting so long, the pumps were gummed up so bad they were shot.

well if i jump the inertia connection ive got normal pressure, has a autometer gauge mounted on the cowl

There is a connector on the dr-side inner fender (group of 3 and one loose), I had an issue with the big wire in the connector that does the fuel pump & tank sender, (think it's gnd. but not sure). What I remember is that the wire was sticking out the back of the connector slightly, pushed it in, pump started to work......

ill check that next time i have the will to even look at it, i know that stuffs all right under the steering shaft cause of the body lift might even be rubbing. pain in the ass getting at it all now. might just pull the wheels and set it on the ground
