lmfao :icon_rofl:

No nothing wrong with it and the only thing that can burn the valves is running way too lean.( too hot) Im running cat onyl right now and still sounds like I have my muffler and no problems. the muffler itself is for backpressure and sound only.

Ditto. I have nothing after the cat and no problems yet. Doesn't even sound too bad haha

It won't damage the motor but it might damage your hearing. ear plugs are cheap.

Honestly my truck is not loud...I have heard louder trucks with full exhaust systems. I have headers and a cat. Maybe my cats plugged up...is it supposed to be loud?

haha... lol, i got a 3.slow and running true duals from heads then lighting out both on pass side. its loud as hell and i get bout 22mpg city and swear like 28-30mpg highway! i love it. and its LOUD:D

ok cool i love the way my sounds now very aggressive but im going to bolt up my new resignator i bought and just run that for a while thanks for the info.

You will for sure burn the exhaust valves!! No doubt about it. You need pipes on there to keep air from entering during the overlap of the camshaft..
5 or 6 feet should be enough, but you do need a pipe on there.

Even with headers and a cat? I find it hard to believe that air would go back thro the cat up the headers and in the heads

i usually agree, but i need to point out that cold air won't be getting through the 500-600 degree catalytic converter unless there is a good sized exhaust leak close to the engine.

if this was an issue there wouldn't have been air injection systems injecting cool air right into the exhaust manifold

I don't know why I was thinking he was running straight off of the exhaust manifold.. My answer was for that! No, you are good like it is with the one cat on there.

Haha phew...I was worried for a bit there! Yeah open manifolds would be bad news. And hella loud
