I have a wrecked 2000 Mazda B2500 5 speed I bought without a dash. I see the 98 dash harness I have uses all 3 firewall plugs, while the 2000 Mazda uses only the bottom two. All I want to do is make the 2.5 run for a few minutes to see if it is OK, then put it in my 89 for a kind of flatbed farm truck. (duallie? or chrome splash rims) I have 98 and 99 wiring diagrms. If they are the same I think I can figure it out, but I don't want to smoke the Powertrain Control Module.
No fuse panel is in the truck, but I have one on my 98 wiring harness. I know I have to power up all of the relays in the power dist. box, to make the fuel pump work. If I send power to the dist box, how do I do it? Will it make the gauges work?
Can I start the engine without having the dash and its parts, rap module ect....
Can I supply the PCM with 12 VDC through a spare fuseblock to get ignition?
Are the color codes for the dash and firewall plugs the same on a 98-99 and a 2000?
If it's different, can someone send me or direct me to a 2000 engine control wiring diagram?
Thanks a bunch you guys are all great. Dave its John from OK from a few years ago.
