No condenser on coil?

While troubleshooting some harness issues, I noticed that my Ranger has never had a condenser (capacitor) on the ignition coil.I just put an MSD in there.... do I need to put a noise cap back or is the cap just there to limit the arcing on points?

Them things are there to arrest any noise the coil might make on your radio. If you cannot hear the plugs firing in your speakers you are good...leave it alone.
