No codes

I don't know the history of this truck, just bought it. It runs with misses, but runs. When I tried to pull codes I got nothing; the code reader didn't even turn on. Does anyone have any ideas about this. (I got a wiring diagram, but haven't started trying anything yet)

I'm just gonna guess it's the 01 since you said the reader doesn't even turn on.


My first suspect would be a fuse. They're usually shared with the lighter socket

I ran into the same issue on my 2004 Ranger, Found a 15 amp fuse blown in the interior fuse box and a 7.5 amp blown under the hood.

I believe the fuse is no. 18 or 20.
