i came home last night clutch was working fine this morning doesnt work at all pushed it in to start and it started in gear and took off. WHY?? any ideas? :icon_confused:

was the pedal firm or spongy? odds are you have a leak somewhere, usually it's the slave cylinder. If you've got brake fluid running out of the bell housing the slave is the culprit.

Yep that's a hydraulic problem right there. See if you have fluid in the clutch master. If its empty and you add some it will need to be bled of air. And that's a temporary fix, you'll have to find and repair the leak.

the master wasnt low but i tried bleeding it anyway some air did come out but it still doesnt work.

You'll have to answer my original question first but i'm betting there is a small leak somewhere, you just don't see it.

I'm also guessing slave cylinder. And I think they can even go bad without leaking (I can't recall mine leaking when it went out last year).

Good time to replace your clutch as well.

when i was driving the night before the pedal was fine the next morning it was like there was nothing there at all just tap it and it would sway back and forth. then i blead it and it seam to come back a little but not what it normaly has. i traced the line back to where it goes into the bell housing and didnt see any signs of leaks or wet spots.. what mould make a slave cylinder go bad?? is it a seal or something or do they just wear out?

I had something similar to that on mine. I could pump it up and it worked for a little bit, but the engagement point got closer and closer to the floor. I didn't have any fluid coming out of the bell housing, so I replaced the master. It was a 50-50 crap shoot, but changing out the 23 year old master seemed reasonable and a hell of a lot less work than the slave. Anyway, it fixed my problem.

Hmmmm...check to see if the push rod is connected to the pedal...the pedal shouldn't actually sway unless the push rod is disconnected...mine actually pulls right off the push rod very easily...and the push rod comes out...but, fortunately...it goes right back in and works fine...
