My a/c is only blowing through the defrost vent. There are no loose vacuum lines under the hood. There are 2 vacuum balls. I believe one is for a/c and one is for cruise? Any ideas of how i can fix this. Its too hot to not have a/c. Thanks. (I know there are already threads about this but non have been useful)

In engine bay passenger side at firewall, look between blower/evaporator housing and inner fender, you will see 2 hard plastic lines, a Black one and a Gray one.
They look like wires but are vacuum lines.
Black one is the main vacuum line for Vent control system
Gray one goes to heater hose valve, to control coolant flow thru heater core

Black one comes from Check valve or vacuum reservoir(a ball).
Usually passenger side front of engine bay very low down usually better seen from underneath.

Follow the black line, use your fingers, and feel for cracks, especially near exhaust, plastic can melt.
It can be cut and repaired with correct size rubber vacuum hose or even tape

Reservoir will have 2 lines, one for that black line another will go to the intake manifold, source of the vacuum

Make sure Gray line is hooked up to heat valve

are you sure it is not the blend door,,, youtube has many videos on blend doors,,,, the vacuum opens the blend door,,, no vacuum you only get defrost,,, or if blend door is bad you only get defrost

Blend door uses an electric motor, it is also only used for temperature settings, it regulates air flow thru the heater core.

Vents do use vacuum motors, and yes, Defrost vent setting is default setting, so OFF or if no vacuum is present to run the motors = Defrost Vent

An ellipsis is made of periods, not commas. A mode door directs air flow, a bled door changes temperature.
