no 4x4

Hello still have no 4x4 on my 2001 ranger edge 4.0 l .I replaced the transfer case shift electric motor still nothing waiting for my chilton manual but would love to hear ideas.I used to hear clicking noise under glove vice and see 4x4 lights when key is turned to start just for a split second bit now for reasons I don't know no clicking noise or dash lights

01 has no hubs, but is live axle (always turning).

If your fuses are good, suspect a bad 4x4CM (4wd control module).

My buddy's went bad in his 2001 when the battery died, same symptoms as you have - no dash light test, no 4wd at all.
