No 4 low

Hey guys I have a problem with my 4 wheel drive its one of those electronic switch knobs and it doesnt engage into 4 low but it engages in 4 high im stumped any help would be greatly appreciated

the motor is probably frozen. this happens a lot on electric shift motors. they usually dont get used so after a while the get a little stuck. go underneath your truck and mind the shift motor and try tapping it with a hammer to free it up.

tip : to keep the shift motor from sticking in the future, shift it into 4 low from time to time to keep the motor moving freely. probably once every month or two

You do know that you must be stopped, with the trans. in neutral and your foot on the brake pedal to shift into 4 low right? I don't mean to offend you by asking but we get a lot of folks into our dealership with the same issue, just because they don't know that.

Yeah I know I have to do that you also have to push in the clutch and engage it

I have similar issue with my explorer. I'll have to try the hammer, but I'm auto tranny, so no clutch lol. Just neutral.
