Can someone refer me to a resource that will help me solve the problem described by in this technical service bulletin?

The symptoms are: Buck/jerk and miss during drive cycle above 3000 rpm - no DTC - 3.0l 2v gas and ffv engine

Thanks.

The solution suggested by Ford is replacement of the cam sensor and cam synchronizer.

I do not have the TSB in front of me but that sounds correct. The CEL light will not come do to the fact that the fault occurs about 2500 rpm in the syncro and Ford does not monitor the syncro for faults above 2500. I assume you have a problem with a mis-fire that may be very light or very hard, it may not mis or mis slightly at very high Rpm when the engine is cold. As it warms the mis becomes stronger and drops down the RPM range to just about 3K. You probably also have a belt type squeal that will not go away until the engine warms then will return after running on the highway in cool air (below 70degrees). I chased this problem for a month, talked with local shop guys, etc. and nothing. Finally, brought it to Ford they researched the Syncro issues and found the TSB. The test is to monitor EGR output, over 150 cycles to its max of 1050 points to syncro shaft issues.

Right. I changed out the synchro and the cps and all seems well for now. I suspected the tsb was correct for what I was experiencing so I finally paid $15 on Just Answer.com. A Ford technician looked up my vin and provided me with a list of the TSB's for my year. He also gave me the recommended solution for my problem. I recommend that site.:headbang:

I could have done that for you for free :icon_thumby:

Where were ya then? I guess I'll hit you next time. :icon_cheers:
