newwbie to audio (pioneer 12 in subs)

that first link doesnt work. i dont know much about bandpass boxes so i have no idea how they sound. 5hz lower means your speaker will dig down lower. just remember you cant hear anything below 20hz anyway. 4db higher would mean your speaker will be louder. if its a full ranger speaker id go with the one that 4db higher. if its a sub id go with the one that produce the low frequencies.

if your talking about the sony system, yes you can wire the subs to get a 2 ohm load. take a look here:

yes you can run 2 dvc subs @ 2ohms. youll need a pair of dual 2 ohm subs and wire them like hte image below.

the premier sub is a little heftier.

as far as a box goes, id either go with a sealed or a slot ported/vented box. youre better off getting one locally. shipping will be a deal killer. actually id suggest getting it all locally. go shop around. tell them your budget and see what they can work out for you. maybe they have some open box items they can let go with a nice discount. yeah all that totals $370 but thats without the amp kit, speaker wire and any installation pieces youll need.

thanks pistons i was thinking about getting a box localy but then my friend from auto tech was tellin me how he builds transmission lines all the time and said hed build one for me all i have to do is buy the supplies:yahoo:. so that should give me some money for wirring.but the only bad thing is i just bought a $200 wake board and then my boat broke:pissedoff: that left me with a $1400 bill that i am now in debt to my father for. so ittl prob be a few weeks before i can buy the stuff but atleast ive got plenty of time to learn more about box designes and such
