has any one ever used these subs i thought they were a pretty good deal but tell me what you think.http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=19070 i am going to be putting them in the back of my now dd explorer and need to know all i can about them. alos i know very very little about audio so tell me every thing you can please(sealed box, ported box, rms, spl,ect...) i need to know all i can so please help

thanks

what are you looking for? do you want the ridiculously loud boomy bass that can be heard a quarter mile away? or do you want just enough to fill your systems low end needs?

i would love to have super loud base at a cheap to reasonable price i am almoast leaning toward the kit cause i know itll all work together but the local wall mart which is literaly 2 mins away sells the pioners for euther 58 or 53 bucks and the shiping on them is 20 bucks from the website so walmarts actually cheaper and easy to return to if they blow

whats your budget? would you consider used gear? diyma has great deals in their classified section

thats not bad but thats not a very powerful amp and for 100$ mor i get two subs and a more powerful amp but thanks though i realize your trying to keep it on the cheap for me:) and for an extra hundreed on top of that i can get thishttp://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9914_2600W+Complete+Sony+Bass+Package.html my final price im limiting my self to is 400$ because i hopefully will be transfering it to whatever new truck i get.but that 400 has to buy a head unit, subs, amp(s),and wires
thanks

i doubt that crunch will do 750@2ohms. more like 550-600 if your lucky. even if it did, it wouldnt be an audible difference. and it a class ab amp, which means it will draw more power than a class d. the crunch amp also doesnt have a subsonic filter, which youll need if you get a ported box. otherwise it will sound like crap.

heres what id get:

Cadence amp - $99 shipped
http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=125&idproduct=386

Cadence 4 gauge amp kit - $39 shipped
http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=144&idproduct=417

Pioneer deh-3000ib reciever w/ installation gear - $129 shipped
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-3WBULqm49pN/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=130P3000IB&s=0&cc=01

Alpine Type R 12" sub - $129 shipped
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14955

thats $396. all you would need is a box and a few feet of 16 gauge speaker wire. you can build a box for under $50. a few feet of speaker wire at a local stereo shop will only be a few bucks. and if you do choose this system and build your own box, research transmission line boxes. its a style of ported boxes and the bass is VERY loud.

yeah but thats only if i get one sub i was planing on geting two so that would bring the price up toalmost 530$and the sony subs only handle 380wrms and @ 2 ohms even if the amp puts out 500wrms thats more than plenty

well its up to you. i would never touch any of that sony stuff.

but if you do get that sony package, you should look into a different box later on. that box is too big for those subs. youll easily push those subs into maximum excursion and blow em.

now that ive done some more reasearch im thinking of using one of these http://www.sonicelectronix.com/compare_features.php in this box http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_1746_Dual+12-+Bandpass+Enclosure.html and i was wondering which is more important 5 hz lower or 4 decibles higher jw thanks

ps are my links working because they dont light up for me and if theyre not can you tell me how to make them work thanks

and pistons thanks i now realize your right i was thinking those speakers were dual voice coil and that i could run the whole system @ 2 ohms but i cant can i ?
