Hey guys, there seems to be a change made to the 7.5 some time around 1998. There's one category for 93-97, then another for 99-05. What's the difference, would there be any benefit to a swap? Are the newer axles still 9" drums?

(Wish the forum would let me search for 7.5) Thanks :c-n:

there is no difference in them, the only reason it is listed like that is because of the generation change in the ranger. I am using an '02 7.5 in my '94 and it is identical except for the fact that it came with 4.10s of course.

Yeah, I'm not aware of any differences either.

all 7.5's were available with 9" and 10" drums, however...so if your looking for a brake upgrade...

Oh...yeah...roger that. Good point. I had forgotten about that possibility while focused on axle shafts, diffy's, et cetera.

Oh, BTW, for your entertainment: When the dyno operator hides around the corner, it's time to replace that bent axle. ;brownbag;
