Hey all. Figured I'd post up after lurking around getting info for my 91 build for a bit. I bought the truck with about 40k on it back in 95 (as my first "car"), drove it for years, took it off the road when the pans got bad enough that the drivers seat wasn't attached on the outside anymore (probably the infamous rusted cowl problem). Had another project going so we sold it to a moron of a kid that we thought knew what he was doing (his dad is the president of a huge local car club, has a really nice car). He made a mess of it, figured out a 2wd isn't a 4wd and decided to sell it. So, we bought it back and are just starting to fix the damage he did (like building his own cab mounts and drilling holes in the front bumper to attach off road lights) and rust we knew existed. In doing the fixes, we're going to drop it a few inches, change out the chrome grille, bumpers and headlight trim to body colored and completely change the interior. I always wanted to fix it up, now we are going to. It's going to have a two tone paint job-deep green on top down the the body line, black from there down (like a street rod style). I'd also like to add a shaker hood.

This is what it looked like a few years ago:

And now (checking out what the clears look like)

Nice Gen II - looks good like it is, but the judge a book by the cover rule applies I guess. Welcome to TRS and start a build thread - would be nice to see her getting renovated/refurbished/brought back to life.

Good Luck

Thanks! Yeah, it did look good, it's what's hiding behind the pretty face that's the problem, lol. The bed was shot-above the wheel wells was bubbling, but the worst was when the "fastback" and roll n lock came off-there was nothing left, it was barely holding on. It's rusted through around the third brake light, and the pans were shot. Then the kid took the seats we gave him and tossed them and tried to use Bronco II seat tracks-needless to say, they don't fit. I'll start a thread once we really get into it come warmer weather.

Welcome to the site!!:icon_cheers:

Looks like you got a good little project going on there, good luck!!:icon_thumby:
