My wife recently inherited her father's dark green 97 Ranger 2WD XLT 2.3L automatic stepside with a fiberglass toneau cover. It's a time warp, it has only 44K miles on it. In fact it still had the original 225/70-14 tires on it. First thing I did was score some 15" steel chrome rims off a 99 Ranger on Craigslist along with some 215/70-15 tires and then I put my the 14" deer hoof wheels on Craigslist, I was happy to get $60 for them. I'm going back through the receipts and all I see is oil changes, a battery, and an air filter. Looks like the next step is to change all fluids, i.e., coolant, transmission, brake, new fan belts, etc... Body is in excellent condition, CA truck, no rust and never seen snow.

It's never had a tune up as far as I can tell.

Welcome to the Station. My 3.0L XLT just rolled over 130K and runs great. Let's hope your 2.3L runs for many more miles.

I realized that I never posted any pics of our 2nd gen stepside truck. 14 years later, it has only 81K miles on it.

FWIW, when I got mine @ 34 years / 110k mi, I am sure it has never had fluids replaced, only a clutch @ 100k and exhaust... still running on factory fluids +/- top off and typical wear items (tires/brakes/oil, etc)
