Whats going on all? I just wanted to introduce myself.

I'm a long time mechanic that builds motorcycles and turbo charged imports cars and has a lawn care business on the side. I'm not used to working on Ford, not that I don't like them, just never bought one till now. I actually ended up with two Ford Rangers. I have a 85 and a 89 I believe, the date on the tag of the second one is 9/89 so I'm not sure if that is a 89 or a 90 since sometimes they consider the ones built later in the year a year newer than what they normally are. I was given the 85' from my grandfather when he passed. Its a two wheel drive 2.8 . The 90' I picked up for $300 witch is a 4x4 XLT Longbed 2.9 Automatic. The only thing wrong with that one is it needs a front pump seal on the tranny.

I plan on Fixing the 4x4 XLT up into a nice off road/on road truck, lift it some, winch, snow plow, bigger tires, lights, ect. The older 2 wheel drive I wasn't going to keep but it means a lot to me being my grandfathers since it was new. I plan on using what parts I can from that one on the 4x4 and then turning it into a muscle truck since its useless the way it is now. I'm going to drop a V8 into it and muscle it up some.

I plan on using this site to make customizing and fixing these trucks a lot easier. I'm sure that most of you on here know more about these ford trucks than I do since I'm used to imports. Any help would be great and appreciated. Thanks, and nice to meet you.:icon_cheers:

You have wrenching skills. The rest we can help with, even if we never meet in person.

First of all welcome to TRS, and congradulations on your first ranger, IMO, they are the best trucks you will ever own. I am sorry to hear the way you got the 85, I would keep ahold of that because of who it belonged to. Anyways you will probably be able to find all the help you need in the "Tech. Library", if its not there just ask, and the guys on here will tell you what you need to know.

i live in Middletown you Lancaster guys know where that is

I was born in Latrobe, not to far away for you.

I'm as close to Latrobe as Johnstown. If you know where Latrobe is then you might know were New Florence is or at least where Ligonier is. This is my hometown, I just moved back after living out west in Arizona for the last 4 years.

I'm not far from you guys either. I'm down near New Stanton Area. But the off road club I belong too is located in Latrobe. :headbang:
