If someone's selling a 94 ranger and says it needs new u-joints to run in 4wd, but it will fun fine in 2wd ... is that right? could you run it all day in 2wd without a problem?

maybe a dumb question but please help me out, thanks.

could be. Could be a front driveshaft U-joint, or a u-joint in the TTB.

I had a U joint that was toast in my front driveshaft and drove no problems 200 miles before I fixed it. Just get under it and check them.

If he's talking about the U joints in the front axle assy or front drive shaft, you're fine to run it in 2.

If it's in the rear drive shaft, you can blow sh*t up. You don't want to spit a U joint and toast the ears etc
