Hi guys I'm new here but have been a long time follower . I've spent months gathering info for my 96 exp 5.0 swap . I already made the plunge and swapped the motor and trans . The specs are as follows ::: 95 ranger (obd2) 3.0 5 speed 2wd reg cab ::: I'm converting to a 96 explorer 5.0 with the 4r70w 2wd transmission . I already swapped steering columns from the explorer and everything inside Is buttoned up for the manual to auto conversion . I'm using the 96 exp ecu and engine / trans harness . Now for the question .. The 42 pin connector , is this plug and play ? If not what needs repinned ? I'm not sure if the automatic transmission would throw a wrench in the "plug and play" part . I've killed myself looking for this exact answer for at least 3 months , can anybody help me out ? Thanks !!!!

i assume you run the column and dash harness to firewall from the explorer in this scenario resulting in a plug and play situation. based on what i read.

otherwise i would compare the pinout on the 3.0 harness engine side with the explorer and manually confirm. i dont remember the two being the same from 95 in totality ever.
