I am sure this has been asked a million times before but having trouble finding the information I am looking for. I have a 2009 sport 4x4, with 16x7 factory rims. I am in the process of looking for new wheels for the summer and was thinking of keeping the 16 rim diameter or maybe downsizing to a 15 (intent to get some AT tires for the new rims).

What is the stock offset on the factory rims? It appears that most of my options available are in an 8" wide rim. I would like to get something that fits in the same location (rim would be an inch wider than stock) or pushes the rim towards the outside a little.

Does anyone have any comments on this. The truck right now is stock. I intend to lift it by doing the pre-2007 modification to get a little extra height in the rear and turn the new keys to level in the front.

Thanks

If you are looking at new wheels, I would look at either 15" or 17" wheels. There are more tires available in those two sizes than in 16". Not too long ago, a wheel manufacturer was interviewed for a magazine article and the representative stated that 16" wheels were almost a dying breed compared to larger wheels. It's only slightly bigger than 15" and slightly smaller than 17" so people decided not to buy them. That in turn, is causing the tire manufacturers to make fewer varieties in 16". So in the future, you would probably be better off with 17" or 15" wheels and tires if this trend/prediction holds true.

I myself don't own any 16" wheels. I have 15s, 17s and 18s in my fleet.
