New tools you've bought recently?

I have one of those... I rarely use it. I leave it in my tool belt pouch. I don't use the tool belt much. Last time I used it was when I built the carport. I'll have it on again soon for some fence repairs.

My go to screw drivers are the pair of Milwaukee demo screwdrivers.

Dint we get going on Klein wire strippers and the stop nut breaking?

My new Klein strippers have the same issue is believe. I messed with it the other day and the stop was non functional.

That's the The Curse for us old farts.

Ain't nuthin' is as good as used to be.

In my old school view of the world, it sounds to me that a "stop nut breaking" would have been a blessing in my younger years. But I digress . . .

I might add that add in my defense; when I go for a tool, I'm cognizant as to whether my intent is precision, or the vigorous application of overwhelming brute force.

Maybe that's why . . .

. . . I seem to have more hammers in my boxes than anything else . . . . . . and I've been guilty of using rocks, in an emergency.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programing, "How To Reconcile Weak Stop Nuts In Today's Handy-Manly Tools". :)

I own very few Kleins. Most of my electrical tools are Channel Lock. Plus a Milwaukee 11-in-1 because I like the grip shape over other offerings. My one pair of side cutters is Channel Lock that I got when I was a kid. They still work just fine and I still use them frequently. The only one of my Channel Locks that has ever suffered damage is my pair of electrician’s needle nose (the cutting blade has 14 and 12 gauge stripping notches). I was poking at one of those nuts for holding a clamp into a panel and somehow (I’m still not exactly sure how it happened), I managed to nick a wire and POP! So there’s a nice divot in them now. I also now have a set of Klein offset wrenches for those nuts…

In pregaming for when I go to do the fluid changes on the Escape, I picked up a fluid extractor and a pump for 1 quart bottles.

I think I'll be getting one of those very soon. I want to change the front and rear diff fluid on mine.

I prefer the collapsable bag/bottles Valvoline uses but with where the fill holes are on the rear differential and the PTU of the Escape, nothing but a hose is going to get in there. Definitely not DIY friendly.

I broke off a driver in my brand new brushless impact...can't get this thing out to save my life

Did you try cursing at it?

So much cursing, still didn't get on there. cant weld anything to it either
I had that happen...

Maybe I got lucky but I lightly clamped the impact driver in my bench vise... chuck pointed down. After picking at it with pick tools I used a strong magnet and it come out. It was actually a cheap no name 1/4" adaptor bit. I try to use the good bits now.

Hit the chuck. Not joking. If you can get it to loosen up it will come out. Don't use a hammer, use something light like a ratchet.

I’ve looked at some of those pneumatic fluid exchangers before from mitivac.

If you drill a hole in the top of a gear oil bottle, stick a tube through the cap to the bottom, then use an air gun to pressurize the bottle from the hole you drilled, it’ll push the fluid up the tube the same way.
