New tools you've bought recently?

I also had a 25% off coupon for HF.

I also got a new spare tire yesterday from discount tire (where I work while getting my auto tech degree) and while putting it back up when I got home I noticed the dreaded spring hanger rot.

So I used the coupon to buy a new nicer angle grinder.
I had the infamous $10 one, it broke a few months ago and I haven’t had a reason to buy a new one until now.

But…. Like I said in the “what did you do today?” thread, I had my wisdom teeth removed today and am now banned by my oral surgeon from lifting anything for a week. So I have a ‘broken’ truck and can’t fix it.

Did I mention my oral surgeon’s name is Dr. Pirelli?

The HF grinder I had was pretty good for a cheap grinder. I used and abused that thing quite a bit. So, I did get my money out of it in work. I bought a DeWalt to replace it. The hardware store that had it is much closer and the price wasn't that far off from the nice HF grinder I was looking at as a replacement. DeWalt isn't what they used to be but they do take use and abuse better.

Yeah- I jut went mildly better and went with the $40 Hercules one. Perfect for my needs, and was already on sale with my dad's ITC membership.

I had a 25% Harbor Freight coupon to use. So, I bought a Badlands 3 Ton Off-Road Jack.

I'd like to get a Pro Eagle but I have parts I need to replace on both trucks this spring. More the 2011 than the 2019 but more than just an oil change this time around. And the 2019 needs some new shoes. Something that can go on the trails.

Seems like just a roller jack with big plastic wheels.

I wonder if this would be appealing to the crowd of people working in gravel driveways.

That's part of the idea. That and on dirt. The reviews I've seen on both jacks have been pretty positive.

The Pro Eagle is double the price but there are things that kind of justify it. Materials used, how they are built, lift height and options availbe are better.

The pictures of both are kind of deceptive on how big the wheels really are too.

Extends way higher than most jacks, and has an extension with it. I have a trailer ball connection for mine too, which is nice if i need to move the trailer around a little bit.

I couldn't use a standard floor jack on my buggy. Jeep is a little lower but not by much.

So he must not feel like he's tread on? Or the jokes just fall flat with him.
but at the end of the day, he's just a burnout and only blowing smoke
