There's people that have adapted the electric hoists to the trolley, don't remember what I saw but they just have a 4 bolt flange on the top side... I adapted mine to the truck crane since I didn't have a boat winch... I agree with Shran, it's a fast bugger, I'm thinking of doubling up the cable just to slow it down...
On my A frame I put two trolleys and two chain hoists (one half ton and one 1 ton I think, don't remember, one is single chain the other is double) which is fantastic... plus I get to pick the fast or the slow one... couldn't pass up the $10 chain hoist at a swap meet and the $25 open box trolley...
For pulling engines the chain hoist makes it an easy accurate job and doesn't bleed down like a cherry picker.
