:fie: id be afraid to tilt any of my vehicles like that let alone working under/around one. a two post lift is probably cheaper and safer...

yeah I think even a four post lift is about 2 grand...

and you wouldn't have to jack the car up and remove two tires and bolt the lift on :)

I'll just throw it up on cinder blocks... I got enough of them and they seem a hell of a lot safer. Might just trust a couple 2x4s more than that doohicky on the doodad whatchamacallit...

Don't do it. Cinder blocks are not strong at all and some people have been crushed by cars on them. Get you some good jack stands.

Here's a funny use for them:

My Dad always used cinder blocks to jack up cars...but that was when blocks were blocks and blokes were blokes...

I read a few of the comments...lol...storing records...lol...

I'd pass...

My buddies 4 pole was 2400 and his 2 poles were 1500 and 1700. His 4 pole barely fits the newer trucks with crew cabs. But they are so heavy, a 2 pole is a bit scary. He is going to be adding another 4 pole (longer) which is going to be around 2500. All of those prices are installed.

Agreed. I sat the F150 on jackstands with brick under it (because my jackstands don't reach) and they cracked. Very uncool.

I need to get some jackstands with a longer reach.

They are actually kind of neat, I regularly drive by a guy a few blocks from my house that has one with his Datsun 280 on it. He's doing a full rebuild on the chassis and its been on that tilt stand for at least 6 months now. I'm not saying I would 100% trust one, but it is a neat way to work in tight quarters.

I don't think it would be a great idea for a daily driver. It's got to wreak havoc on fluids. Then there are other things like speaker boxes (no, I don't like mounting mine to the vehicle), amps, etc. that would get all messed up.

I would use it, but I'd rather have a rotisserie. Then I could also work on suspension. I may one day try to make a rotisserie using 1 ton truck spindles. I haven't researched the idea yet so I don't know how feasible that would be.

It would sure test out and see how good the rings are, you could have one bank/end full of engine oil when you set it back down.

I think this looks just about as safe/practical and is a whole lot cheaper.
