Hey guys,

My name is Connor, i'm from Ottawa. Im 20 years old and just bought my Ranger in Nov. 2012. I work as a welder and have been doins so for a couple of years. makes working on the truck a little easier ive built a few things already. Love the truck and plan to do lots to it. I go Camping, lots of atv-ing and dirtbike riding and find my self in the woods almost every weekend. Calabogie is where i spend most of my time, some of the trails arent exactly stocker friendly im sure most of you know that. so the mods begin haha.
I dont want to do anything to crazy just a street friendly but trail ready little rig. so hears what ive come up with so far. suggestions always welcome!

so far ive built my own back rack, different config from the name brand ones but ill post pics soon so you can see

-custom sliders made out of sched. 80 pipe(pics soon)
-Thrush Glasspack single exit before rear tire
-4 offroad lights on the rack, cheapies for now...
-cb

on they way:
-powertrax no slip locker
-PA body lift 3''
-rear add a leaf
-torsion keys
-deezee truck box

wish list:
-some new meats
-10,000lbs winch
-diablo trinity tune and monitor
-10" sub with new speakers all around
-HID headlights and more trail lights
-custom skid plates
-custom front bumber w/ hitch box
-line-x
-new tow straps for removal of dodge and chevs... gotta always have those.

haha anyways thats about it ill post pics soon! thanks.

Welcome to TRS Connor~!

Not too many on here from Ottawa but I'm sure there are a few. Sounds like you have some skills and experience that others on here can tap into and I'm sure you will find enough information on here to help you build your truck the way you want it. Many experienced in building and breaking these trucks so plenty to read and write about.

I'd be interested in seeing your back rack...been looking into these for a bit but haven't contacted anyone about making me one. I did a bit of welding years ago but don't really know enough about it yet to start building things myself...so I look forward to your pics and maybe I might copy your idea or have you build one for me...it's only 5 hours or so as the Ranger flies...:)

thanks for the info, i appreciate it. i have a few pics of the back rack, truck isn't clean so they aren't the best. it wasn't hard to make, i used 1.5''x1.5''x3/16'' square tubing, smaller than the normal 2''x2'' on back rack brands. but its what i had available in the shop, and it didn't turn out bad.. 10 mins of cuts off a cutting list, 20 mins to weld it up( right angle magnets made it super easy) and then a bit of fine grinding and wire wheel it was ready for rocker guard. hope you like it!

Thanks for the pics...not bad at all!

I guess it goes inside the post holes but can't otherwise see how it is fastened to the truck. It does look a bit dark for proper viewing, but I get the general idea...truck looks clean too...:icon_thumby:

yeah sorry about that, come spring and its warm enough to get up the urge to clean the truck, ill have better pictures up. Bodylift and locker have arrived! should be installing next week.

whoops! forgot to say that the back rack is secured with angle iron 2x2x3/16" on either side one leg riding the top of the bed rails and the other riding the inside of the bed rails.. then fastened using the aluminum clamps you would see being used for securing bed covers.. all in all its pretty damn rigid, i tried rocking the rack back and forth and it didn't budge at all.
