new to me device

I have to say device because calling the blackberry just a phone is just wrong it took me years to make the plunge but i inherited a model 8330 BB from my dad and man this thing is awesome to say the least anyone else use a " smart phone " and if so what brand and model and maybe a quick personal plug for your favorite one .

Blackberry is ok. I use the same one for work, and although I love technical gadgets, I have no patience for devices with non-intuitive interfaces. A well-thought out gadget allows you to figure out how to do things with a little work, but without having to search the manual. You will find there are numerous things you will want to do, but will have to wait until you can research it, only to find out that it you will have to navigate seven or eight layers deep into submenus to get it to do what you want it to do.

At any rate, I got an iPhone for personal use. I haven't had to look up a single "howto" since I got it.
