I just bought a 2011 Ranger with an I4 motor, auto, lots of extras. I was just looking at some of the specs on here on the site and looking at the differential specs the code on the door is 97 which makes it an 8.8 4.10, is that right?
Getting back to the introduction part: I'm a geezer, retired and a military retiree as well. I live in Western Oregon.
Nice to meet you all!

sounds about right on the axle specs.

FYI: the 2010 and 2011 rear axles are unique to those years.
they have no tone ring on the carrier, instead they have ABS sensors on each wheel.
they have the "big" wheel bearings usually associated with 31 spline axle shafts BUT these shafts are only 28 splines in the center carrier.
the axle shafts are about 1/4" shorter than the regular or "classic" axles.
the mounting pattern/holes at the ends of the housing are unique to these axles.

I'm a geezer, retired, veteran, and live way east of you near Interstate 80 :icon_thumby:

Welcome aboard!

How many miles on your Ranger?

Welcome to the site. Any pics of the ranger?

I was stationed in Cleveland in the mid 80's and I've been to Toledo -ate some cabbage rolls there. Thanks for the heads up on the axle and nice to meet you.
