hey guys,
i am just getting my first vehicle, so i have a 2000 ford ranger i2.5 i was wondering what type of loads it can handle.
hello and thanks to anyone who knows about how this truck performs

sorry, what is your question and what?

yeah um +1 weezl. If I understand it correctly... trust me she can handle a load, but she doesn't slurp it down like you might think...

haha sorry. I was tired last night. But what i was trying a say is i have my first vehicle. It is a 2000 ford ranger xlt inline 2.5 litre. I was just wondering how it did in a performance perspective

2.5's aren't race cars but they will get you there, decently cheaply, and pulling more than you may expect. Take a look in the tech section and use the search funtion and you can learn ALOT

Welcome to TRS...

I can pull 700 lbs with my 2.3 and it is about 25 HP less than yours...but a manual transmission goes a long way with hauling stuff...

I don't like to put that much weight on it...unless it's copper...lol

Ranger Power - activate!

Hello Rangergi,

Welcome to The Ranger Station! Lot's of information and knowledgable folks here to learn and laugh with! The best advice I can give new members is to explore the site. As already noted, reading the tech notes in the various forums here yields lots of information about your truck. Another handy tool here is the Search and Advanced Search tool located on the site tool bar just above. Using this tool successfully helps you to locate threads that discuss issues and items you are interested in. You sometimes have to play around with the word or term you wish to search; what sounds like a 'thump' might be described as a "bump" or "tap" or something entirely different. Folks use many words to describe the same thing, so you might have to be creative. Also, you might want to place some specifics about your truck in you Signature which you can access through the Control Panel (CP). That'll help fellow TRS members help you to dial in on your problem. I also recommend that you find a TRS buddy with a similar Ranger configuration like your own. This helps you dial in on some specific items of interest that might be more akin to your vehicles than the general public. That said, the community here benefits from all the open discussions on the Ranger, so I encourage you to post often, ask questions, and risk being wrong at suggesting a solution. The aim of forums like these are to broaden you knowledge and interest in your Ranger. I've said the wrong things plenty of times in forums; learned plenty on the upside. Good luck and enjoy yourself!!

Aredoban01,

Kumusta!? Welcome to The Ranger Station!

Glad to hear that you like Fords in the Philippines! The nice thing about older Rangers are that they are basic and easier to repair. Lots of information shared here cross the boundaries of various auto/truck manufacturers. Hopefully you will find some of it useful.

Regards,

Kevin

what gjm and rackster said exactly, chances are ANY question you can come up with, has already been asked, and answered, more than once, on this forum of nearly 58,000 members... that being said, if you do search and can't find anything, do feel free to post it up, there should be an answer on here for ya!

thank you for all of the advice guys. also, i live in cali. haha where does it say i live in the philipines?

unless san diego has relocated, i wouldn't worry about what rackster said, he's fairly new around these parts... lol
