1984 bronco 2 put an M5OD in it, kept the same clutch, new flywheel ring gear and starter. Now it whines pretty load when I engage the starter, the teeth engage but not deep enough like the two gears are too far apart. There's no adjustment that way as far as i know, any advice?

When I got a new starter for my 2.8 the starter drive gear wasn't engaging with the flywheel do it only being a 9 tooth gear. I got an 11 tooth gear from rock auto and it engaged perfectly. The part number is Standard Motor Products SDN191

i'll give it a try, as far as i know theres no other way to adjust it.

went to order it but they wont ship it to commiefornia i'll have to find it somewhere else but thanks
