With some problems...

'93 ranger 4.0, 5sp, 2wd. It's quick. *96,000 miles. * is probably 1.

The 4.0 ticks. Since it's 2.9's big brother, is it also normal? It always has a constant tick. No louder, no softer with speed etc... Do the two engines share similar *crappy* oiling systems?

Rob

My 93' 4.0L has always had a slight tick to it.

As far as I know it is a normal thing and nothing to worry about, as far as I know. I'm not worrying about mine.

Could just be your fuel injectors. Sometimes it's hard to tell.

Congrats on the new truck. Sounds like it'll be fun.

I'll check it out. I'm sure that it's a fuel injector, since it never changes tone or pitch. Or speed, only with RPM.

It WILL be a fun truck!! It does WICKED one wheel-peel burnout(s).

NICE!

When I busted my rear driveshaft in one of my BII's with a 4.0, I could pull a front one wheel burnout! lol:icon_cheers:

That's the way to do it.

It has a 7.5 in it with ? gears and obviously, open diff. I was thinking about swapping in my 4.10 L/S 7.5 and go to the strip with it. I think I'm gonna put a shift light in it:icon_thumby:. What should I shift at if I do that?
