With some problems...

'93 ranger 4.0, 5sp, 2wd. It's quick. *96,000 miles. * is probably 1.

The 4.0 ticks. Since it's 2.9's big brother, is it also normal? It always has a constant tick. No louder, no softer with speed etc... Do the two engines share similar *crappy* oiling systems?

My 93' 4.0L has always had a slight tick to it.

As far as I know it is a normal thing and nothing to worry about, as far as I know. I'm not worrying about mine.

Could just be your fuel injectors. Sometimes it's hard to tell.

I'll check it out. I'm sure that it's a fuel injector, since it never changes tone or pitch. Or speed, only with RPM.

It WILL be a fun truck!! It does WICKED one wheel-peel burnout(s).

That's the way to do it.

It has a 7.5 in it with ? gears and obviously, open diff. I was thinking about swapping in my 4.10 L/S 7.5 and go to the strip with it. I think I'm gonna put a shift light in it. What should I shift at if I do that?
