One of buddies bought a new 2011 4x4 Ranger 4 months ago. He called me twice this week to let me know what has been going on with his truck. I think it is the Sport but can't remember. Nice blue color with supercab 4 door style. It has broke on him 7 times already. 4x4 won't engage, motor sputters, cuts off and on, rear end broke on the highway, a/c went out and the oil pan gasket had to be replaced. The rear brake light on the right side was not working. Right passenger door hinge broke after the third day he owned it. Of course, it is under warranty, but he is so pissed. I told him to buy the thing when he told me what he was lookikng at. He loves my Ranger and has driven mine several times and wanted a smaller truck for a change. He wants to lift it later and add some taller tires.
Now he hates the thing. I told him to see what Ford says and get the issues corrected and maybe it will never break again. His older F150 never had any issues with over 150,000 miles and he just wanted a smaller truck since he retired from his landscape company and needed a bigger truck at the time. I feel bad about it breaking down so much since I told him to buy it. Not too many of my buddies with newer Rangers have had this much trouble. They all decided to buy a Ranger when they saw how my Ranger was never broke and always in good shape and just runs so good. They loved the way mine handles with the lift and the looks of the Ranger. They all got rid of larger trucks (Ford, Dodge, Chevy) since that did not need a larger truck anymore. Most have not had any issues and some had minor 4x4 troubles and a motor issue (spark plug going out or plug wire went bad). Something minor. I have several buddies who have begged me to sell them my Ranger but I won't give it up. I love my Ranger!!
