nice sound and a little more power with my exhaust according to my butt dyno:headbang:

To be politically correct that is not Ram Air it is also not a cold air intake. Looks good though . . . didn't mean to rain on your parade and I by no means know it all - LOL. :dunno:

Ram Air - Air is drawn in through the hood or cowl and directly into a filtering element on top of the engine. See the Ram Air Dodge trucks hoods or Firebird and Trans Am hoods, just a few of the many out there.

Cold Air - The air is drawn from outside of the engine compartment via means of ducting. The filter element cannot be exposed to the engine compartment as it will still pull in heated air thus taking away from the intended purpose.

I was about to ask where is your MAF - LOL - did not have one. But it is a nice custom job. :icon_thumby:

Could the battery be relocated to where the air box existed? and have the air intake directed to where the battery would be? just wondering....

I was atcually wondering the same thing just dont know how to go about it

A battery relocate kit if needed. You just remove battery, remove the tray and relocate it if it is still in good condition, if not get a new tray and bolt into the new location. The hardest part will be moving the cables such as extending them if too short to reach the new location. One moved, then begin re-routing your intake to the new location and maybe build a box around your filter element to seclude it from that hot engine air . . . good luck.

So if the battery was moved to where the air box was it should sit low enough for no hood contact? Is there solid area under the air box?

i had an old dodge neon intake in my truck a few years ago...sounded cool...that was about it...as for the mudd and crap getting inside...was not fun

thats exactly what i was thinkin, sucking mudd and water into that cant be good. my old 73 blazer had a open air filter and i sucked mudd/water through it destroying my edlebrock carb. i went to a closed air box after that. IMO those open air filters dont do much if anything. they allow more crap to be sucked in and theres no real power gain. im not trying to start a flameing war im just saying, its not worth it IMO:icon_thumby:
