Hey all,
I got a new starter to finish up my 4.0l clutch re-swap. I have a new 4.0 flywheel, clutch, Starter etc. I got the new starter wired and bolted up last night. I give it a try and it starts just fine, but there is a one second grind after the vehicle starts. It seems like the starter isn't disengaging fast enough/there is a one second delay before it disengages. After the kne second, it disengages and runs just fine.
Is the starter just slightly misaligned with the fly wheel? My dad thinks that it could possibly be caused by the fly wheel bring new and the starter being new, maybe the gears are just a little tight so it's just a little harder for the starter to disengage.
Any ideas? The starter bolted up just fine, just wondering if it's misaligned or what.
Thanks!
