just red necked a plow in my ranger...pics later..it is electric over hydrolic.and when i shift it from side to side or go up....every thing on my gauge cluster goes all over the place...check engine light and the abs light comes on. i am thinking bad ground? week battery? and should a use a deep cycle marine battery?

Either a bad ground or you don't have a big enough alternator.

Some pics of the setup or informing us of what kind of pump you used can help.

Plow pumps need to be grounded good and they tend to be a little power hungry. Of course, a Meyer E-47 will use less juice than an E-60 (they used starter motors).

run a ground and pos right to the bat and isolate the controls...if possible add a second bat dedicated to it.

What Bobby said but you really shouldnt need a 2nd batt. if your alt, connections and current batt. are good to go and you are just using it for personal use. Make sure the connections are clean and tight, your batt. may run the truck ok but not beyond. What is the CA and CCA on your batt. and have you load tested it for available amps? Battery companies are criminals as they dont tell you a battery dies because of sulfasion on the plates unless its an internal (mechanical) plate failure. Go to a parts store or batt. vender and have them load test your batt. Takes 10 seconds or less when they press the button and free. Let us know Steg.:icon_thumby:

Seems like the truck is finding a ground through the stuff you just added. I wouldn't be surprised to find some broken ground straps between the engine and body.

battery was only pushing out 200 cca...it was 850 cca...so i got a new 750 cca and my alternator was pushing out only 10 volts at idle and 11.5 at max...local parts store warranty it out and gave me 130 am alternator from a 4.0!

and my grand cable needs to be replaced on the plow!
