Hello everyone. Names Rob. Great website you have here.

I recently acquired a '92 Ranger 4.0 from my brother. I like this truck, always have. Has a lot of miles. California emissions (most likely driven from there to NJ). I've helped him work on it in the past - basic things, tune up...new thermostat, filter changes, etc.

Well, he let it sit for a while and in that time, looks like something hit the cab over the passenger door. Has a nice sized dent in the cab roof and it's pushing the passenger door out about an inch from the top. Obviously, this has let mother nature take her course on the interior. I'll be stripping the interior down and taking care of mold/mildew issues it has now. Would like some advice, if possible. I'm planning on stripping the interior down and laying some Rhino line down instead of the carpeting, plus replacing the seats with some Explorer seats/console.

Just wanted to introduce myself. Thanks all.

Welcome to TRS

Yeah you can rhino line the floor but its going to be a bit noisy because of the absense of sound dampening... You can always get sound dampening and lay down a rubber flooring. and the explorer seats should bolt right up...

Welcome man...There's only one way I know of to get rid of mold, and that's with bleach. I used to do some residential pressure washing back in the day and it works great...just make sure you get all of it.

My old Jeep I used to have, I took out the carpets, prepped the floor and rhino lined it. Worked great. The jeep had two holes (one on each side) and had rubber plugs...so when I would clean it, I would just sweep everything through the holes. Of course the doors on those sat a good bit higher up off the floor...so I'm not sure something like that would be needed on a Ranger, but I thought it was cool.

Yeah I know what you're talking about with the rubber plugs, my Jeep has them as well.

I'm planning on removing the entire interior to make sure I get rid of it all. Unfortunately, the seats and headliner will have to go as well. I don't mind it though, it's just going to be a little truck to tool around in and carry stuff.

It's nice to know that the Explorer seats will bolt up as well. Plenty of them in the junkyards around here.

Thanks everyone.
