Ive built a couple cars over the years including a 355 powered S10 (had to sell for college), 454 monte ss (too much power and fun), prostreet gremlin (still in works), and a couple of just fix up cars. Im 22 and have been building since I was 14.

I got my '97 4cyl 5spd ranger today at work. Not sure how it all happend but ended up BSing with the boss man about cars and how i was looking for another truck. He hands me the keys and says the check the storage shed. It was in pretty good shape, solid cab and floors, bed is rusted bad. Runs great, but feels like a front brake is hanging up a little. We settled on a price that was very much in my favor. And I ended up with a truck all within about 30 minutes. Wasn't even hardly looking at the time.

Anyways plan on replacing the bed and driver door, giving it a nice coat of paint and just driving while i collect parts. Eventually plan to lower it 3/4, 5.0 explorer swap, and just keep it simple and stupid.

Dunno why but the passenger side front caliper is always the first to go in my experience with rangers. Congratulations on joing the world of rangers, my 97 2wd 5spd has over 240k miles and still stroking. Drive it to work at a low rate of speed everyday.

Well, welcome! There seem to be quite of few of you over there. Jump in and enjoy. A street Grimlin, even with the 401 was a bad ass.

Well, I did say over there, not up Nord. Being up here means you can still drag race in the middle of Jan-Feb, lots of trails open up if you're not "scared" of driving on ice. Brats and burgers taste great in the ice shack, can coolers keep the "beverage" from frezzing - what's not to like?

Thanks everyone! Im slowly adjusting to up north. Its not so bad yet. Been going to school in Missouri past 4 years and lived in Iowa before that. So I kinda know midwest winters.

The Gremlin should be a blast if i ever get it done, but i enjoy the cheaper side projects too much.

Just picked up drop beams, axle flip kit, ranger 8.8 with posi, and stepside bed. Hope to get a build thread started sometime this week maybe? Depends on work i guess.
