"New" normal highway speed

That's one thing I like here in Texas is the 75 MPH speed limit on rural roads.

That one is bullshit. Like i said earlier they picked that particular one to prove a point.

Thats all unibody vs unibody junk.

They specifically chose that year because that is the year they started crash testing cars.

Their point was how much safer cars had become in the 50 years since automakers were held accountable for the designs of their cars.

As someone who visits a lot of accident scenes every year, (I’m one of the few in the county who tow in the sheriffs impounds. We’re only called in if someone dies and they’re going to press criminal charges.) YOU’RE WRONG... there’s no other way to put it. There’s no pretending that it’s even close.
If I pull up to a scene and there’s a 70’s or 80’s car, any make or model, I know what car I’m there for. I’m there for the other car... because the person in the old boat was killed.
Normally, I’ll argue with your opinion on reliability, power, etc, but not in this case. None of our opinions mean anything in this case. It’s a simple fact that new cars are designed from the ground up to be safer.

You go right ahead and believe that (y)

So of all the 59 offerings they just happend to pick the one that would make the most dramatic effect to justify their reason to exist?
Right.

Rusty, this is bordering on insane. You've seen video evidence. You've gotten direct testimony from people handling accident after accident. And you've got decades of crash results.

Every single piece of evidence tells you the sky is blue. And you're here screaming into the wind that it's hot pants pink just because that's your favorite color?

Ive also shown evidence that the old stuff holds up just fine in accidents. What makes theirs better then mine? Except more people agree with theirs.

.....and no....hot pink is not my favorite color.

Also....as much as yall say im biased toward old stuff....you guys all think new shit is the best thing to come off a line since sliced bread....and as stubborn as i am about not believeing it you guys are just as stubborn about beliveing it.

Theres no point in argueing it. If you guys dont wanna argue with me about stuff like this then let me state what im gonna state and move on, everytime anyone (not just me) says anything that doesnt go along with general opinion around here it gets pounced on. Most others just say screw it and move on but thats not me.

'Most others' prefer evidence based decision making.

But as you so aptly said,
that's not you.

No, most others just go along with whatever the accepted opinion is at that point in time.

Or they blindly accept that "oh its new its better"

But its whatever....there is obviously no place for people like me in this "follow the leader" world

You're on a forum full of guys driving old trucks, throwing a temper tantrum about how we are blind followers and believe newer is always better. And you're the one presenting no evidence whatsoever.

Not throwing a temper tantrum....contrary to what you believe i have better things to be pissed off about then TRS.

Ive presented the best evidence i can find. Just like in the F150 thread, where for whatever reason comparing two similar trucks with the exact same gearing is "unfair" even though its pretty common knowledge low gears tow better....so i guess i should have just let the new V6 truck have a 3.73 or 4.10 or hell why not a friggin 6.13 because....god forbid something new cant outdo something old.

Or the 5th gen ranger thread....where i presented plenty of evidence that shows the new one has basically the same payload as an 85....but nahhh that dont matter. Ford tells me its better so its better.

I dont get it. Never have, never will. Like i said, you or whoever dont like the things i post, feel free to scroll on

That seems about normal around here. When Corona first started, the cops wouldn’t pull anyone over for anything... it was a free for all.

that was my favorite driving time. I'd be in the right lane of the turnpike doing 80-85 with cars flying past me. it was incredible while it lasted

now that i'm in PA people drive like 65 in the left lane and there's not a day that goes by that I don't want to just run someone out of the left lane

After the accidents I’ve been in and injuries sustained… I’m seriously tempted to say eff fuel economy and buy a 2-1/2 or 5 ton. Now you have to be my size or bigger to hurt me.

I was in a 2000 Ranger when my hip got damaged and I had a concussion. I was in a 1992 Ranger when I got a concussion and I was in a 2012 Nissan Murano when I got a concussion. Doesn’t matter how “advanced” a vehicle is, bottom line is you still don’t want to be in a wreck. They suck. A lot.

School bus is what you need. It's designed to "win" an accident for reasons that are obvious

It’s a thought… but I don’t like people enough to want that many seats. A large truck bed fits me better, lol

Just saw a nice bus converted to a toy hauler on fb. Bare bones, but not a bad setup
