needs to be higher so it doesnt lay on the tailgate when you're not moving.

i tried, took me 3 hours to make something....spent 1 hour thinking of an idea:icon_twisted:
i really like it...it will be used on september 11th

well its a good idea. but it really shouldnt lay on the truck. So try to move it or rig it differently is what im saying. Maybe just put the tailgate down? or do you have it rigged up in the wedge between bed and gate?

sorta like that its like ma bed extender but wood and looks eh with it down

agreed. it just needs to not be laying on your truck man.

I'd like to know how you did it! I only have the little flags that go over your windows. I tried rigging something up to my toolbox last year to fly my BIG flag but I couldn't come up with anything.

Noone here on this site is more proud of that flag than I am, Just be careful on the road. It can be a distraction to other drivers.

you know if you were to weld up a mount that sits at a 45 degree angle and mount it in the front of the bed in the middle where it can fly high without laing on the bed or flying outside the edge of your vehicle it would look nice and be much safer, also you could then use a longer pole. Any welding shop would throw a mount together for you. Maybe with two wide arms so it can bolt into place using the factory bed bolts?

I feel the same, I think there are alot of people here proud of that flag, and willing to sacrafice. Myself for one.

and I like your idea on the mouting. That would work much better.

we have a couple kids that have a rebel flag that they keep on their truck(i live in mississppi and we have some retarded redneck guys round here) just like you have yours there, but hey put theres in the hole on the bedside like jay said.

but why is it bad if it touches the truck?

because of what that flag symbolizes. It shouldnt hang out of the side nor touch the truck. I was actually in wal-mart the other day, in Uniform and seen an american flag on a table with some support our troops and products on it. I went directly to the manager over in customer service and told them no no. That flag needs to be taken off the table, they did it right there. I salute that flag everyday, twice a day usually, and on occassion run it up and down the flag pole, I consider myself a patriot and although the Idea behind what hes doing is good, If seen in person.. or pictures like posted.. i would have to correct him.
