I’m from Michigan looking for information on getting my Ranger to where I want it. It’s a 2000 3.0 Automatic with 134k miles. Really clean for the year. I bought it with a blown head gasket and put new reman heads on it and it runs great now. I want to turn it into what the green one below looks like as far as stance and front end swap goes. The wheel fitment as well. Eventually I want to swap a 5 speed and swap one of my Audi B5 1.8t engines in it, since those are what majority of my engines are and all my parts are that are laying around. That’s the jist of it so thanks for having me.

That will be an interesting swap. Look forward to seeing how it turns out.

Yeah I’m going to make it look the way I want first. Then collect the parts for the manual swap since it will be plug and play ford parts, for the most part. This is the engine I have sitting around that I plan on throwing in. Fully built with a precision 5858. I’ll probably go smaller on the turbo and run E85 but the engine swap is a ways down the road.

What engine is that? I don't recognize it.

This is a 1.8t out of a 2001 Audi A4. There’s a company that makes adapter plates that let you mount a VW/Audi 4 cylinder to a Ford transmission so I am thinking of trying to make this work at some point after I am done messing with the 3.0 in my truck now.

Horsepower170 hp @ 5,900 rpm
Torque166 lb-ft @ 1,950 rpm
Sounds like fun. Seems crazy that it's max torque is that low on a turbo engine.

Yeah mine are the 180hp stock variants, at least they were when I got them. I think the lowest they came was 150hp stock. It is a Borgwarner k03 so it is a tiny turbo stock. Mine are far from that and the one pictured pushes over 500hp on e85. I need to make sure everything I put in the truck will handle that much. I think I will go with a smaller turbo and run around 400hp to make it more fun to drive because the lag on the setup now is painful. It was more fun with the GT28 I had on it honestly.

Got some new wheels and tires on today!

-Bassett 15x8 4” backspace
-Cooper Cobra 255/60 15 tires

I can work on saving for the bumpers, headlights and hood. Basically fixing other cosmetic things to clean it up. Michigan is thawing out so it’ll be crappy for a little while still.
