I just bought a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 Flareside. I love it and I don't get stuck in my own driveway like I did with my Sonoma Sport Truck! One quick question, how do I turn on my cargo area light? Thanks Rocky:beer:

Welcome to the Station Rocky! Let's get some pics up and show off that sweet little flareside. Honestly though, I have no idea how to turn on the cargo light. I've never had one. Good to have you with us!

Seriously? The original post asks about the cargo light and TWO responders don't know? The responders should know more about their trucks. (Understandable if you never had a cargo light, RollinWOT.)

Open the door. The (truck bed) cargo light should come on with the interior dome light. The other way is to roll the dial next to the headlight switch all the way to the top after it clicks.

If the switch doesn't work AND If the light doesn't come on when the door opens and the interior dome light does, change the lightbulb in the housing.

Welcome to TRS, and yeah you turn on the cargo light by rolling the dimmer know all the way up until it clicks. Thats how mine works, but I don't believe the light comes on when I open my door.

Yep, that's how my 2000's cargo light works.

welcome! lets see some pics ASAP!

thanks

Thanks guys,I figured it out just after posting. I had gloves on and couldn't get it to "click" all the way.I will get some pics of my nice new/old Ranger,if my IT man,18 year old Comp Engineer Major son, will help me. Great to see so many nice responces to a stupid and boring Question.Go Bears.Rocky:beer:
