I started daily driving this Ranger last November after a big move for work. It's a 1993 standard cab 4.0 OHV 2wd, 5-speed with a limited slip differential and 355 gears.. I'm working on the truck in my spare time ( Working on stuff is my hobby) and so far I've replaced the following.

-Fuel pump
-Fuel filter
-Bosch O2 sensors (15719 ca emissions)
-Upper and Lower Intake manifold gaskets
-Valve cover gaskets
-Spark plugs (motorcraft SP486x)
-Motorcraft plug wires
-Ignition coil (Denso)
-Throttle Position Sensor
-EGR Valve
-Engine coolant tempt sensor( both for dash and ecm)
-New bearings in tensioner/ Idler pulley's
-Serpentine belt
-Alternator (AC Delco gold)
-Group 65 Battery
-PCV valve
-Kumho Solus 215/70r14 tires
-Front brake calipers
-Front brake lines
-Brake pads (semi metallic)
-Rear wheel cylinders
-Rear brake lines
-Master cylinder
-Drive shaft U-Joints (Moog)
-Transmission mount
-Reverse switch
-Reverse shift pin (missing for some reason)
-KYB shocks front and rear
-New headlamp housings
-Phillips Vision Plus bulbs
-Front corner lights
-Driver's side door weather stripping

Truck currently has 155k miles and this Thursday I have new AC Compressor, Evaporator, Dryer, Condensor, Both AC lines and manifold gauges arriving to rebuild the entire ac system as it gets hot here in northern CA. I just hope to keep having fun with this old small truck that's a blast to drive.

Good work keeping it going! Love those side decals.. suuuuper 90s

Nice ride. Welcome to TRS!

Welcome to the site.

Hi welcome. I have the same truck except 4wd and 3.73 gears. It has 94k orig miles and is my baby. I am in the San Fernando Valley area of socal.

I have had it for about 10 years and done a lot of repairs, some mods. I would like to give you the general advice of don't buy crappy parts, which looks like you have managed to avoid so far. Try to buy oem or an actual name brand. Here is a list of parts I can think of that were either dead out the box, or failed quickly.

-4 seasons ac compressor. Lasted half a summer
-aftermarket cam synchronizer. Failed quick....did it a 2nd time w/ a motorcraft NOS off ebay.
-IAC valve. duralast was dud. replaced with motorcraft and it worked.
-Bosch alternator. Failed after 300 miles. replaced with motocraft. AC delco is good too.
-NGK spark plugs. 4.0 hated em. Loved the autolite or motorcraft.

There's probably a few more I forgot about...but looks like you got good parts on your list there.

Also if you have a 2 piece driveshaft, I switched to a 1 piece and am really happy w the results. Fixed my vibration issues (even w new u joints).

I used the 2 piece lower intake manifold gasket and used right stuff gasket maker on the ends instead of the supplied rubbers. Holding up fine.

If you have brake issues, it happened that I once had no rear brakes, then the rear locked up when I tried bleeding. turned out to be the abs valve, its under the engine, hidden but accessible. replacing it fixed the issue. It was a sizeable core charge to send my old one in.

Truck has a solid one piece drive shaft that's aluminum which is nice. I also tested the IAC valve by unplugging it and observing the engine almost dying then plugging it back in and hooking up a vacuum gauge and reading a very strong pressure (IIRC around 23 in-Hg). After I get the entire AC system replaced on Friday I want to order new Fuel Injectors (Already have the O-rings) and a fuel pressure regulator from Rock Auto and that would complete the fuel system. Besides the fact that my truck has a terrible paint job the body is actually straight with no dents or rust lol I'm thoroughly enjoying this old truck, it's a nice departure from the 23 330i M-Sport i had..better yet no car payments .

I use rock auto too as they offer better quality options. I remember getting mid priced injectors, the pack not sold individually, Bosch IIRC. I kept the stock ones to one day have cleaned. Didnt notice a difference so they probabky were fine anyways lol.

My ranger gets a lot of compliments in a sea of new euro and italian cars. Driving a 90s pickup nowadays is like jay leno in a model T cool factor lol smh.
