Hey everyone, my name's Chad. I found this website after looking up some more info on my 88 Ranger GT and stumbled onto these forums. Very useful and full of information and from what I can tell most everyone seems very friendly.
Full disclosure, this is probably going to be one of those say hello, wave goodbye kind of posts as I recently purchased a new car and my Ranger has to be sold, but I understand there's a classified section for all that. But let me tell you about my pickup. First here's a few pictures...
1988 Ranger GT shortbox. 5 speed manual with bucket seats. Red interior. Sorry I don't have any interior shots at the moment. Just rolled over 89,000 original miles.
Little backstory behind the truck:
My dad purchased this pickup in late 1990/early 1991 out of New Jersey where it had been wrecked, so it does have a salvage title. He's an auto body mechanic and he bought it because it would be a fun little pickup and it only had just short of 18,000 miles on it at the time. Well after a couple more kids and whatnot, the Ranger just sat in the garage, untouched and undriven for almost 10 years. He finally fixed it up so when I turned 15 I could have a vehicle. I'm 23 now and this has been my daily driver and only vehicle since I got my driver license. Always started great and never had any problems throughout the years, it's been a good truck and I've done my damndest to keep it in great shape, although it is starting to rust a wee bit (North Dakota winters+salt on the roads+plastic ground effects= places for rust to form). But overall very fun to drive and quite sporty all around.
Now, I've got to sell it and I'm having a hard time letting it go. It's the only vehicle I've ever had and people seem to enjoy it and I get a lot of questions about it. A lot of people never knew Ford made the Ranger in a GT package. In fact, about 7 months ago I had a gentleman from this website follow me into a parking lot and ask if he could take pictures of it (it was a Red Lobster in Fargo, ND so if you're reading this, shoot me a PM). People just always seemed to my little truck. It was a good ride. Anyways I'll likely have this in the classified section on this site soon and my local craigslist but I'd just figure some people would like to see another example of a 1988 shortbox Ranger GT.
Sorry for the long post! Hopefully I can stick around and interact with a few of you even if I'm not a true Ranger owner!

Edit: Sorry for the giant pictures, I'm not quite sure how to make them smaller.
