ok, so i got some new lights for the front of my truck and i wanted to find some place i could wire the lights so that when i turn on my lights they come on or even if when i turn on my truck they come on and when i turn it off they go off seperate from the head lights. JUST AS LONG AS IT DOSENT DRAIN THE BATTERY and they go off when the truck is off is all i care about.

also is it legal to have them hooked up to your lights? also i thought maybe getting a switch and running it from a power wire and hook up the lights through the switch to the power wire

some pictures of it maybe will help?

hook the coil wire for your light's relay to whatever source you want. if you want them on with the ignition, find a key-on 12v source. if you want them on with your headlights, use the 12v lights-on wire.

my driving lights come on with the key, then go through a toggle switch mounted on the dash. most of the time they run automatically but this way i have the option to turn them off if i want (you know, for sneaking up :icon_thumby:)

i got them installed but i just ran a switch under the dash for it so i can have it on when the truck is off or on when i want but thanks a lot for the info ill use that when i hook up my roll bar!

Just a note I thought I would bring up, You do know that tractor utility lamps are not legal for on road use, correct?

Unless they have a DOT or SAE stamp and number on the lens, they are for off road use only, unless the regs are completely different in Rhode Island.

Reason why is the light pattern, I could see those blinding oncoming traffic due to the lack of a cut off.
