New LCD and PS3

So some of you may know i was having problems with my Tv a green streak was on the left hand side well after 3 months from buying it at Costco they let me return it although they have a strict policy the Lady was really nice. Anyway i though i would buy a PS3 to celebrate well now that i have this combo ive noticed my electric bill has gone up pretty signicficantly i was wondering if i have them both hooked up to a surge protector if i decided to shut it off after each use wold this screw either of them up?

unplugging the ps3 didn't make a noticable change for me. i turn mine off like that for >1 yr with no issues. i do it because of my trittons, and the ps3 is just plugged in the same surge protector

yeah i was wondering if it would make much of a difference or if i decided to turn off the surge protector with my tv and ps3 plugged into it if it would mess them up

IIRC just turning off the surge protector wont lower your electric bill because there is still electricity going into the surge protector and being used/lost, just not passed it, so unplug the surge protector completely to not raise your bill

Hmm. My electric bill didn't change noticeably when I changed TV's and consoles. Is it really pricey there?

So Unplug the surge protector from the wall every time ok
idk why the new playstation doesn't have an option to turn off the whole system like the last one, and why you have to have your tv in standby. THey probably dont last as long because of it they want you to buy parts
