Replacing my ignition cylinder to troubleshoot intermittent wiper issues and a spinning cylinder. Old came out fine. New one doesn't go all the way in but I'm still able to start it, engage lock release, and remove key. When I take the key out and open the door the dinging comes on and doesn't turn off until I disconnect terminal.

What am I missing?

Tried this thread but didn't help.

Thanks!

I just replaced mine with a non OEM replacement as well, mine has about the same gap I believe it's just the difference in parts, as long as the pin in the bottom seated properly it's in.

Hmm. I wonder if it's contributing to the door chime problem (chimes even when it's not supposed to), though I've had that problem a long time.
