New here with a question on a 2.3 turbo swap

Would it be easier to start with a 4cyl ranger?? I found a deal on a 94 ranger but it's a 4.0 with a knock and a 5 speed..
I've got a complete running 88 turbo coupe I am wanting to swap everything into a ranger...

Just trying to make sure I start out the right way...

Welcome to TRS

Better to start with same engine model, 2.3l or 2.5l Lima.

Look in Turbo section

But you can use the 4.0l ranger, but not the trans, it will have the 8.8" rear axle which is better for the turbo but not "required".
Bell housings are not detachable so you would need a trans from a 2.3l/2.5l 2000 and older Ranger to replace it.

You will have to get or make the cross brace that runs under 4cylinder Ranger engines for the motor mount

Truck I found is a 94 4.0 5speed.. my car is a 5speed... I know the trans is longer.. but that's not a big issue

Im doing the same bild in an 88 ranger, im in need of a few parts myself as i happened across this motor and it was priced to move, have ti overhualit first, but i did not research this we enough before i started and now im over budget, and those TC/ svo parts are pricey and hadd to find.
