Well hello ranger station! I seem to be having a nice problem with my lil automatic 4 cyl 2.3l. At total random intervals I will have a slight problem when my lil truck comes to a full stop. I will let off the brake to go forward and the truck will just sit as if in park. Usually I have to rev the engine a couple of times and it will suddenly jerk into gear. Also it seems to have shifting problems every now and then while driving as well...when it comes time for it to shift...it will lose power and accel...rev up then jerk forward, kinda feels like it is slipping i guess. Any suggestions?

could be the front pump in the trans, clutch packs,or tourque converter, ether way youre trans needs some work.

well before you do anything check to fluid level if you havent already. ive came across many situation where autos will slip just being 1/2 a quart low. my dodge would do that and the 47re is a decent size trans. doesnt make sense when you consider theres 16 qts of fluid in one of them but 1/2 a quart low and it would slip out of gear just like you said yours is doing

Here's the ULTIMATE solution to the auto tranny probs: Get manual trans.

4-banger/autos tend to be slugs anyway.
