Hey I'm new here, but not to the off roading scene. I have whats left a of a Jeep. D60's 108" wb blah, blah blah. I'm looking to start a new project and I have my eye on a 1998 mercury mountainer. It has a 5.0, auto but it has some sort of AWD set up. I have looked thru the tech library and I'm not sure if its a 4403 04 or 05. So my question is whats a good t- case swap for this? looking to do a straight axle swap, its going to be a 8 lug HP44 and 60 swap. Going to be kind of a driver, weekend beater project. I would even consider a atlas etc. if its a straight swap. Any info. will be appreciated.

as far as i know (someone will correct me if im wrong), all RBV t-cases use the same bolt pattern...so you should be able to swap in a 1350/4 manual shift part-time transfer case.

welcome to trs!

OK thanks. So these will all be the same spline count no matter what motor trans combo?

thanks copycat. i wasnt 100% sure if the t-cases all used the same bolt pattern or not.....now i know :icon_thumby:
