Hey brother, just joined myself, but been a Ranger owner for years. I'll be glad to help with any issues you come across if I can.

As for your poorly maintained Ranger, I assume you replaced oil, coolant, filters, plugs, wires, etc?

Hello. I did some digging on the history of my newly acquired 2003 ranger edge 3.0L manual. It seems the previous owner not only used it for a daily driver but also often towed a coyote camper that was well above this vehicle's tow capacity. It ran hot and he just had the radiator replaced. No new hoses or thermostat. He said after it ran hot the check engine light came on and it started idling rough. My scanner showed random misfire, a P0453 which is the fuel tank pressure sensor high circuit. Also the tachometer reads about 1200 rpm higher than actual engine rpm. Could this be the cam shaft position sensor? Oh yeah the fan clutch won't disengage. This truck is so much different than my recently totalled F250 V10 5spd 4x4. Never had any trouble with it except depressing fuel economy. I'm gonna figure this ranger out. Repair it then sell it. I want another F250. If anyone knows of a V10 5spd or even rare 6spd let me know.
