Welcome! Sounds like you have a decent project on your hand! what transmission is in the truck?

And as I expect you probably know, the guys here dwell on pictures sooooo....:worthless:

Yea

Yea let's see some pics mr. 4x4!!!! Welcome and I hope you find the answers to everything you want to know in the community :agree:

302's are so over rated and the people on here do not approve of them! 460+ conversions only ;) lol

i'm just messin around post up some pics, do you have the expo, the f-150, or the mustang 5L in it?

here she is on the tailer on the way home. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. It's the only one i got and it already has the ranger station windshield sticker on it.:headbang:
And Weezl I belive it is out of an f 150. The guy i got it from said it was out of a mustang. But it don't look like a mustang motor unless they put the truck valve covers on it.

the intake on the f-150 5L's are much different... i assume efi?

this is the mustang's (sometimes the label plate is missing, or the wrong plate, note the throttle body compared to the exploder 302) this i should add is NOT in a mustang, this is in a landrover, so the intake tube is in the wrong place, but the throttle body to exhaust looks proper, except the missing EGR spacer between the intake manifold and the throttle body

this is the explorer 302, the 90* corner on this motor is not present on the 5L HO (mustang motor)

and the f-150's this one has been painted black, it's usually the same grey as above

this is a COMPLETELY different motor, but still a ford 302, the 2011+ mustang 5.0 TiVCT motor

the 302 efi was also in the cougars, the thunderbirds, the crown vic's the gran marquis, and i'm sure some other cars, in the 80's and early 90's... they may have different variations on them on top of the ones above, i'm not sure

for future reference, you want to make sure you know which one it's out of, as the 302 HO does not use the same firing order as the rest, it uses the 351W order

I want that new 5.0....... it would look great in my ranger.

nah... the 88's would look terrible with them... i think they would look good in an 07.. :D

i wouldn't mind 412hp 390 ft/bs in a 3000lb 4x4 :D

and it weighs 444lbs... fvcking sexy! And an '88 would look PIMP with one under there... especially with all the pointless plastic!

lol, you could strip the plastic off to make it look like more of a jy motor... OR you could put the 5L cammer motor in (ford 305 crate motor)

No mine is caberated. So it will be hard to tell without running the numbers.

ahh yes, very hard, but i think most of the carbureted 302's are pretty well the same...
